Ambassador Cruise Line Shows Off Ambience Flagship Through AR Experience

British cruise line Ambassador now allows potential cruisers to take a 360 degree virtual tour of its flagship Ambience through an augmented reality experience created by 3rockAR.

People can begin their tour of the Ambience by scanning a QR code or visiting a website on their iOS or Android device. From there, they can virtually place Ambassador’s hotel director, Allwyn, into the world in front of them. Allwyn will allow users to visit 12 different areas around the ship, including restaurants and guest rooms.

While touring a location, visitors can swipe on their device’s screen or move their device left and right to view the area from a full 360 degrees.

In addition, 12 golden tickets have been scattered throughout the ship’s virtual locations, and visitors can tap on them to collect them. When someone finds all 12 golden tickets, they’ll have the option to enter their name and email address for a chance to win onboard credit vouchers that can be used during a cruise.

Gordon Nardini, chief marketing officer at Ambassador Cruise Line, said, “We are delighted to launch our first augmented reality app, which gives guests a fantastic opportunity to explore Ambience and get a taste of all that Ambassador has to offer those who sail with us. It’s a great way to build even deeper interactions with our guests through the power of augmented reality technology.”
