The Prix Elysée is one of the world’s most prestigious photography awards, with a prize of CHF 80,000. Its aim is to support the photographic production of a mid-career artist. Thanks to this financial support, the artist can develop an original project on the theme of his or her choice.
The call for entries for the Prix Elysée 2025 is open from November 10, 2023 to January 28, 2024 on Picter.
Founded in 2014, the Prix Elysée is the result of an exclusive partnership between Photo Elysée and Parmigiani Fleurier. The eight nominees will be announced in June 2024, and the winner will be chosen by an international jury in 2025.
Who is the Prix Elysée for? The aim of the Prix Elysée is to raise the international profile of a promising photographer, recognized in his or her own country, and to provide substantial financial support for an ambitious project. Photographers who have built their careers on exhibitions and publications, but who have not yet benefited from a mid-career retrospective, are eligible. Photographers must be recommended by a recognized professional in the field of photography or art (gallery, publishing house, etc.).
How to apply? Entries can be submitted from November 10, 2023 to January 28, 2024 on the Picter platform. Instructions and prize regulations are available in English and French at prixelysee.ch

The Red Bull Illume is a photography contest that celebrates the fusion of extreme sports and photography. In its seventh edition, it involved 50 specialized judges who selected 50 finalists, including 10 category winners and one overall winner.
Australian photographer Krystle Wright won the 2023 edition, becoming the first woman to achieve this prestigious title. Her image captures climber Angela Vanwiemeersch tackling a crevasse in Utah’s Long Canyon.

Wright used a Leica SL2 with an APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280mm f/2.8-4 lens to capture the winning image, inspired while driving towards a cliff in Australia. She illuminated a fissure in the rock to enable the athlete to engage in traditional climbing, a characteristic aspect of Traditional climbing.
This wasn’t Wright’s first involvement in the contest: she had previously participated in the 2013 and 2019 editions, ranking among the best. This year, in addition to winning the top prize, she also received recognition in the Innovation by MPB category.
Other winners from various categories include photographers from different parts of the world, each celebrated for their unique vision and photographic skills.
To celebrate the contest, every year Redbull is releasing an amazing book showcasing the best images submitted to the contest.

Positive Magazine had the opportunity to meet him in Venice 5 years ago at the Gritti Hotel in Venice. It’s a big loss for the whole film industry. He was expected at the Venice Film Festival in September at the 80th edition to introduce the remastered edition of the Exorcist.
