Local news site Patch recently asked its readers to submit their worst Thanksgiving dinner fails, and—no surprise here—most of them stemmed from screwups in the kitchen. There was the cook who forgot to add sugar to the pumpkin pie, the grilled turkey that absorbed lighter fluid, and the neglected oven that set a house on fire.

No wonder that, according to an Escoffier survey, 66% of us secretly wish we could just order the whole meal out.

But there’s good news for those saddled with cooking this year. If you really get into a fix with an undercooked bird, dry stuffing, or lumpy gravy, a bunch of major food brands have experts on hand to help you out. (To find out why they go through all the trouble and expense, read the full-length story here.)
