Cybersecurity M&A Roundup for April 1-15, 2023
Sixteen cybersecurity-related merger and acquisition (M&A) deals were announced in the first half of April 2023.
An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that more than 450 cybersecurity-related mergers and acquisitions were announced in 2022.
Branddocs acquires and merges with TrustCloud
Branddocs, a provider of secure digital transactions and video verification services, has announced the acquisition of and merger with trust assurance platform TrustCloud, which provides identity verification, authentication and authorization, encryption, digital signature verification, e-vaulting and e-archiving services.
Private equity firm Cinven is in the process of acquiring integrated risk management solutions provider Archer from RSA Security. The goal is to create a global leader in governance, risk and compliance (GRC) technology solutions.
Core4ace acquires PatchAdvisor
Core4ce, a company specializing in data and defensive cyber operations, has acquired IT security firm PatchAdvisor. Both companies provide their services to US government agencies. The deal adds penetration testing capabilities to Core4ce offerings, while Core4ce will enable PatchAdvisor to scale and service larger customer sets.
Columbus A/S acquires ICY Security
Enterprise IT services provider Columbus A/S has signed an agreement to purchase cybersecurity company ICY Security ApS, which specializes in identity and access management (IAM) solutions. The deal enables Columbus to expand its business. Both companies are based in Denmark.
Ericsson-owned wireless WAN and private cellular solutions provider Cradlepoint has bought Israel-based Ericom Software and its enterprise cloud security platform in an effort to solidify its SASE and zero trust offerings for hybrid 5G and wireline environments.
Frequentis, an Austria-based company that develops communication and information systems for air traffic management, public safety and transport, is expanding its cybersecurity capabilities with the acquisition of Germany-based Frafos, which specializes in IT security solutions for VoIP communication.
Iliad acquires majority stake in iTrust
The Iliad Group has acquired a majority stake in cybersecurity firm ITrust to expand the offering of its telecom and cloud services subsidiary Free Pro. ITrust provides assessment, SIEM and threat hunting solutions, as well as managed EDR and SOC services. The companies are based in France.
US-based brand protection company OpSec Security has announced plans to buy Denmark-based intellectual property (IP) management and protection firm Zacco. The deal enables the companies to expand their offerings.
Sys Labs acquires FortKnoxster
Web3 company Sys Labs has acquired FortKnoxster, a blockchain cybersecurity firm founded by Danish entrepreneurs and IT security specialists. They also announced the launch of their first decentralized application (DApp).
Cloud, security, and data and analytics solutions provider Trace3 has acquired Set Solutions, which specializes in cybersecurity consulting and procurement solutions. The deal helps Trace3 expand and strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities.
Cybersecurity and compliance solutions and services company Utimaco has acquired data protection firm Conpal as part of its expansion efforts. Both companies are based in Germany.
