Daniella Oropeza Promoted to Assistant News Director AT WTVA in Tupelo

Daniella Oropeza has been promoted to assistant news director at WTVA in Tupelo, Mississippi

She’ll continue anchoring the news at the NBC and ABC affiliate, while working alongside news director Pat Peterson.

Oropeza takes over for Craig Ford who retired in April.

She joined WTVA in 2017 as a reporter and later became an anchor and executive producer.

“Daniella has been a very important part of the WTVA newsroom since 2017,” Peterson stated. “She is a true newsroom leader who is passionate, dedicated and committed to producing quality journalism. I’m looking forward to working closely with Daniella as she takes on this new leadership role.”

Oropeza lives in Tupelo with her fiancé, Anthony, and their son, Tony.

“There are HUGE shoes to fill, but I am really looking to forward to this opportunity,” Oropeza said. “This community has been nothing short of welcoming and supportive since I first started. I look forward to continuing to serve northeast Mississippi in this new role.”
