Dealmaster: It’s Star Wars Day, so here are some deals on Star Wars things

It’s May the Fourth, which means it’s time for Star Wars fans to celebrate their favorite small independent film series. “Star Wars Day,” as it’s known, may only exist on May 4 because of a cheeky pun—”May the Fourth be with you,” for those who’ve never put two and two together—but for a manufactured holiday it has gained a surprising amount of traction. Special screenings and costume-heavy celebrations are now held annually around the world to celebrate.

Perhaps most of all, May 4 has become a time for retailers to discount and sell lots of Star Wars-themed products. Now, this still isn’t a formal holiday, so there’s not a truckload of genuine deals out there, and you’ll have to be a pretty hardcore Star Wars fan to really get the most out of all of this. But if you’re the kind of person who has strong feelings about Alden Ehrenreich or Figrin D’an and The Modal Nodes, there are at least a handful of noteworthy discounts on games, gadgets, and assorted knick-knacks going on today.

We’ve listed a few for your convenience below. And if you’re not a fan of this all-encompassing media behemoth, well, have a happy Friday.

• Take 15-66 percent off various classic Star Wars PC games at GOG.com.
• Take 55-66 percent off various Star Wars PC games at Humble Bundle.
• There’s a similar sale over at Steam if you’d rather go that route.
• If the PS4 is more your speed, Sony is also discounting various Star Wars games at the PlayStation Store.
• eBay is running a one-day sitewide discount that takes 15 percent off most items in its store. Use the promo code “PMAY4TH” at checkout if you’re interested. There are some caveats here: eBay says you’ll need to pay at least $50 for the discount to be applicable, and you can only save up to $100 using the code. The company says this will only last until 4pm PT on May 4. This doesn’t just apply to Star Wars products, so you could also use it on, say, a Nintendo Switch, MacBook, or pair of Bose noise-cancelling headphones.
• If you’ve got a compatible device, Otterbox has discounts on a variety of Star Wars-themed phone cases.
• On the toy side of things, Funko says it will take 15 percent off Star Wars versions of its popular plushies, bobbleheads, and the like. This one requires you to use the code “M4BU” at checkout. Lego has a handful of deals on Star Wars sets as well.
• While we can’t guarantee how much everything here will jive with you, ThinkGeek has price cuts on a whole bunch of Star Wars knick-knacks and general nerdery. Think stuff like a Darth Vader car charger or Death Star waffle maker.
• EA recently axed some of the “pay-to-win” upgrades in Star Wars: Battlefront II, and as the Dealmaster, it’s my duty to alert you that the game is now hovering around $20 on Amazon. We are the site that once reacted to this game by saying “nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope,” though, so we’d understand if you have no room for forgiveness here.
• Google is advertising a Star Wars Day event across the Google Play Store. There aren’t really any good game deals, but there is a decent selection of discounts on Star Wars audiobooks, along with a few on Star Wars ebooks and digital comics.
