Fox Promotes Two Station Leaders, Fills Gap Left by Retirement of Sheila Oliver at WFLD

Fox Television Stations (FTS) has announced a pair of promotions in its Midwest stations.

Glenn Berk, the current senior vice president and general manager of WITI Fox 6 Milwaukee, has been named svp and gm of Chicago stations WFLD Fox 32 and Fox+ Chicago. To replace Berk, Mim Davey has been named svp and regional general manager of both WITI Fox 6 Milwaukee and KMSP Fox 9 & WFTC FOX 9+ Minneapolis, which she currently heads. Both Davey and Berk will continue to report to Jack Abernethy, chief executive officer of FTS.

This comes after Sheila Oliver‘s (pictured) retirement from WFLD and Fox+ Chicago.

“We thank Sheila for being a driving force at FTS for more than 20 years and congratulate her on a distinguished career spanning multiple markets. Mim and Glenn are both seasoned Fox Television Station veterans, with deep experience in news and sales, making them ideal leaders to build on our momentum – particularly in local journalism and digital growth,” said Abernethy. “We’re fortunate to have a strong bench of internal talent, and I’m confident both will continue to lead with vision and success.”

Most recently, Davey held the svp and gm position at KMSP Fox 9 & WFTC Fox 9+ Minneapolis. Davey has been with the Fox-owned duopoly in Minneapolis for over 20 years where she previously served as assistant news director and vice president / news director.

“It’s a privilege to take on this expanded role and continue working with the exceptional teams in Milwaukee and Minneapolis,” said Davey. “Both FOX 6 and FOX 9 have strong connections to their communities, and I’m committed to supporting their continued growth and local leadership.”

Berk has been with FTS for 25 years across various roles. Before working as svp and gm of WITI Fox 6 Milwaukee, he spent 9 years as vp and gm of the FTS duopoly in Chicago. Before that, he was vp and general sales manager of WHBQ Fox 13 Memphis, when it was owned by FTS. He was national sales manager for WTXF Fox 29 Philadelphia. And before that, he was an account executive for Fox Stations Sales in New York where he began as a Sales Trainee in 2002.

“Returning to Chicago feels like coming home,” said Berk. “This city and station hold deep personal and professional meaning for me, and I’m honored to rejoin a team that’s dedicated to serving the community with impactful journalism and innovative local programming. I look forward to building on the strong foundation Sheila has established.”

Oliver is retiring at the end of the month. Over a 23-year period with FTS, Oliver held multiple roles including GM of KCPQ Fox 13 Seattle and vp and director of sales at KMSP Fox Minneapolis. Her career in local broadcasting began 40 years ago in Toledo, Ohio.

“For the past 23 years, I’ve had the privilege of working for Fox and for Jack Abernethy, who gave me the freedom and support to innovate and challenge the status quo. In Minneapolis, Seattle, and Chicago, I’ve worked alongside teams willing to turn over every stone to make things happen, sometimes against all odds,” said Oliver. “Fox has been a gift in my career, and I’m especially grateful to the staff at FOX 32. With three young grandchildren, this feels like the perfect time to retire and focus on family.”
