#FridayFive with Shillington Design Teacher Alan Barba

Inspiration can come from anywhere. So, on the first Friday of each month, we’re sharing some of our Shillington team’s favourite things from the past four weeks. This month, Shillington New York Teacher Alan Barba tells us what was on his radar in April.

Karan is such great source of inspiration. He takes a really playful interpretation of minimalism using patterns and vibrant color palettes.

A true gem. Massimo gives you a glimpse of his professional knowledge through the use of typography, color and grids—enabling him to create solutions or systems that solved design problems.

If you love color as much as I do, then the Color Factory is a must. This installation allows you to fully immerse your senses in color with a set of rooms — each one with a specific theme and interactive activities and some freebies too!

All Things Must Pass is just a monumental statement of pure genius. It’s just a beautiful amalgamation of passion, spirituality and his musical frustration running free.

Ryan’s work is rooted in simplicity, use of design principles and a keen eye for detail.

Take a look back at what’s been inspiring our team over the last two years! And for some drool-worthy visuals from our Shillington students, read 16 handmade album covers and 14 app designs.
