A job vacancy for a mid-weight Graphic Designer with experience of editorial design. As Editorial Designer you work alongside a team of editors in order to create and deliver online editorial design projects from inception to delivery. Projects range from online publications through to marketing emails.
Role Details
This is a job vacancy for a mid-weight Designer at the medical publishing division of an international publisher.
As Editorial Designer you will work alongside a team of medical editors in order to create and deliver editorial design projects from inception to delivery. You will also be responsible for line managing a Junior Editorial Designer. Because the medical publishing division delivers a wide range of online editorial projects you will get to apply your design skills to a wonderful variety of creative challenges.
Examples of Creative & Editorial Design projects include :
– Editorial design for the publisher’s online publications
– Designing marketing emails and online advertisements
– Building digital medical education programmes in the publisher’s bespoke Content Management System (CMS)
– Adding creative flair to PowerPoint slide decks for use at medical conferences
– Editing educational videos creating animation and interactive elements
This is a very rewarding job for an Editorial Designer because you are helping to inform and educate healthcare professionals by delivering engaging informative content, and this means that in turn patients will receive better care from their healthcare professional.
Salary & Benefits :
– Salary range from £35,000 to £38,000 depending on your experience
– 8% Pension contribution is paid by the Employer

Location & Working Pattern:
This is a full-time 5 day a week job vacancy.
Because nothing beats the creativity that flows from face to face contact you’ll join your colleagues in the design studio 3 days a week. For the remaining 2 days a week you can work at a location of your choice – whether that be your beloved coffee shop, or a sunny spot in the park with your sketch pad and your trusty Derwent (or other favoured pencil brand) 2B pencil.
Because the publisher’s office is located in West London they are located within easy walking distance of several mainline and underground stations. And furthermore,if you fancy a late start or early finish the publisher gives you the benefit of flexible working hours.
Skill/Attributes Required
You will have experience of working as a designer across editorial design projects which includes designing for online publications.
In terms of software you will need to have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, as well as MS PowerPoint.
Because you will work on web based projects some knowledge of HTML and CSS is useful.
Experience of working with a content management system (CMS) is preferred so that you can work with the publisher’s bespoke CMS.
