Here’s Roundup for The Week Ending February 7

Happy Friday to all who celebrate!

In this week’s edition of stories we didn’t post for one reason or another, we see the usual churn and burn in local stations while a Pennsylvania anchor sues over a raise request.

Let’s make the stuff happen:

Things and Stuff:

  • WITN reporter mourns, remembers friend killed in DC aircraft collision. Here’s the video.

  • Our friend over at FTVLive did an interesting thing. He asked ChatGPT what it hought about Tegna’s latest moves. It’s answer? Tegna’s CEO’s focus on expense and headcount reductions seems to be a move toward positioning the company for a sale. Companies often undergo cost-cutting measures when they’re preparing for a sale, aiming to boost profitability and streamline operations to make the company more attractive to potential buyers. By reducing expenses and headcount, Tegna could be improving its financial health, potentially raising its valuation or ensuring that it’s a leaner, more efficient operation for future ownership.”
  • In Erie, Pennsylvania Jennifer Mobilia, who co-anchors WJET-TV’s weeknight newscasts, claims she makes ‘substantially less’ than male co-anchor despite her workload and experience. She is suing in federal court. Here’s that story.
