Here’s the Roundup for the Week Ending December 6

Happy Friday to all who celebrate!

In this week’s edition of stories we didn’t write up for one reason or another, we see Byron Allen (pictured) is suing McDonald’s, saying the company discriminates against black-owned businesses, and in the “I guess?” category of news, we see a bunch of anchor dudes have been named to the sexiest anchor list.

• Evening reporter and multimedia journalist Hannah Tiede revealed her departure from the CBS affiliate KENS in San Antonio. Here’s the story.

• Jessica Kartalija announced on social media last week that she had joined the 6abc team in Philadelphia. In an Instagram post, she was holding a 6abc mug and captioned it as “finally ready to spill the tea,” saying she would see you soon on 6abc. Click here for more.

• It sounds like Tegna is using the speed dating concept to hire. FTVLive said Tegna is giving the marketing folks they cut 12 minutes to make a case for a new job as a regional marketing director. Click here for more from Scott Jones.

• WCAU anchor Keith Jones tops the list of ‘sexiest’ male local news anchor. Here’s the story.

• After nearly three years at ABC 13 Houston, anchor Jacob Rascon is leaving the station. Rascon announced his departure on social media on Monday with a goodbye letter to his newsroom colleagues. His last day at Channel 13 will be Dec. 13 (notably, Friday the 13th).  Click here for more.

• Gender discrimination is still very much alive and kicking, but Emmy-award-winning reporter Rachel Yonkunas is hitting back, suing NewsChannel 12 in Long Island claiming it unjustly fired her. Here’s more.

• Allura Leggard, a weekend anchor at CNY Central, made a “bittersweet” announcement Sunday that she is leaving the TV station after three and a half years there. Friday will be her last day. Click here for the story.

• KCAU 9 News said it is sorry to report that evening anchor Sophie Erber has left the station. Sophie accepted an anchor position in Colorado Springs. Her last day at KCAU 9 was on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28. Here’s more.

• WZZM chief meteorologist George D. Lessens wrote a goodbye letter to viewers of the Grand Rapids, Michigan station. Click here to read it.

• From the Hollywood reporter: McDonald’s will face a trial over accusations it discriminates against Black-owned media companies. U.S. District Judge Fernando Olguin found that McDonald’s may have violated civil rights laws by relegating Byron Allen‘s networks to meager advertising tiers specifically reserved for companies that produce content targeted to Black audiences.

• A KPRC reporter and photojournalist were assaulted while doing a story on a used car lot in Pasadena, Texas. Click here to read about it.
