In this week’s edition of stories we didn’t write up for one reason or another, we see the usual to and fro of local TV talent, while a station in San Antonio honors the memory of a former anchor who died from breast cancer.

After more than a decade with KLFY News 10, Dalfred Jones, one of the station’s most popular news anchors, has announced that he’s moving on to a new opportunity. Known for his Dial Dalfred segments and his strong connection with the community, Jones has been a staple in Acadiana homes, building trust in the community through his news coverage and helping residents voice their concerns through his reporting. A face familiar to TV viewers in Toledo is retiring after a 40-year career in broadcast journalism. Diane Larson announced her retirement from 13 Action News in a WTVG story posted late Wednesday afternoon.  Here’s the story.

 In memory of KABB anchor Karen Martinez, the Healing Hearts Gala is hosting their annual Healing Hearts Telethon on Fox SA and News 4 San Antonio. Proceeds from the telethon go to benefit the ThriveWell Cancer Foundation of San Antonio, a nonprofit organization that was close to Martinez’s heart. Click here for more.

Melissa Shriver, former morning show anchor, is returning as a temporary anchor on weekday mornings on KHQA Channel 7 in Quincy, Illinois.  Shriver is filling in for Paula McKenna, who has temporarily moved to anchoring the evening newscast. ABC News Anchor and Correspondent DeMarco Morgan returned to WISN 12 on Sunday, for an exclusive interview with 12 News’ Cyreia Sandlin. Morgan will host a special edition of GMA 3 live from Milwaukee on Monday, focusing on the importance of Wisconsin voters in the upcoming presidential election.
