Only 5% of business leaders report seamless connectivity
A survey of 500 enterprise leaders across six countries (United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Canada and Australia) highlights the relationship between connectivity and cybersecurity. The research asserts that better connectivity improves an organization’s chances of defending against cyberattacks, as 38% of organizations with excellent connectivity are among industry leaders for cybersecurity performance. When an organization has good connectivity, only 22% are considered industry leaders.
However, only 5% of business leaders report seamless connectivity across their organizations. According to the survey, there are several reasons organizations are prevented from attaining seamless connectivity, such as differences between organization departments (30%) or an inability to prove a return on investment for improved connectivity (27%). Among organizations with excellent connectivity, concerns about cybersecurity prevent the transition to seamless connectivity (24%). Therefore, cybersecurity is both a benefit and an impediment to improved connectivity.
Furthermore, 99% of enterprise leaders report a lack of trust in their organization’s internal data. The central reasons cited for this are multiple versions of the truth (38%), opposing data management practices (32%) and poor hardware reliability (31%).
