Revolving Door Roundup: Jenna Bush Hager’s New Friends Include Scarlett Johansson and Keke Palmer

Friendly Additions: Hoda Kotb’s departure from the Today franchise has left a big hole in NBC News’ flagship morning show, particularly for its fourth hour. So Jenna Bush Hager is bringing in some friends to sit alongside her and keep the good times rolling during the renamed Today with Jenna and Friends hour until a permanent co-host is named. Actors Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria, and Keke Palmer will be up first beginning Monday, Jan. 13, with comedian Michelle Buteau joining Jenna on Jan. 16 and Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson subbing in for a week-long stint on Jan. 21.

Making Moves: NBC News announced the addition of two new correspondents on Tuesday: Ryan Chandler, formerly of the NBC Austin affiliate KXAN-TV, and Camila Bernal, formerly of CNN. Chandler will continue to be based in Texas, while Bernal will report from Los Angeles.

Eye on Weather: CBS News national weather correspondent Rob Marciano will headline a new team of meteorologists for CBS Mornings. The ABC News veteran will be joined by CBS Philadelphia’s Kate Bilo and CBS Bay Area/KPIX’s Jessica Burch. CBS News and Stations also plans to continue working with The Weather Channel to provide weather updates for the Eye Network.

On the Rise: MSNBC announced that Rebecca Kutler is taking on additional responsibilities. The SVP of content strategy will now be in charge of MSNBC’s dayside programming. Kutler joined the network in 2022 from CNN, initially overseeing MSNBC’s non-linear content, including digital, audio, films, and live events.

SportsNewser: Amazon’s Prime Video is beginning to put the pieces in place for airing NBA games this fall. On Tuesday, the streaming service announced its new studio crew, which includes Taylor Rooks as host and former NBA players Blake Griffin and Dirk Nowitzki as studio analysts. Rooks should be already familiar to Prime Video’s sports audience as she currently serves as a features reporter for the streamer’s Thursday Night Football pregame show. She is also a host and reporter at Bleacher Report and TNT Sports.
