Revolving Door Roundup: SpinCo Announces Senior Communication Leadership Appointments

SpinCo Spins the Wheel: SpinCo announced several MSNBC and CNBC executive appointments as both cable news networks draw closer to their separation date from NBCUniversal News Group.

Keith Cocozza, SpinCo’s chief communications officer, named his communications leadership team. Their ranks include Diana Rocco as vice president internal communications and Hollie Tracz as vp of media relations. Rocco will leave her post as NBCU’s svp of corporate communications, while Tracz previously served as MSNBC’s communications lead for dayside and weekend programming.

Meanwhile, Lauren Skowronski will become CNBC’s svp of global communications. It’s somewhat of a homecoming for Skowronski, who was previousl an svp of corporate communications at NBCU. Most recently, she served as Snap Inc.’s senior director of communications.

Finally, Richard Hudock will be promoted to svp of communications at MSNBC. He will continue spearheading the network’s strategic communications efforts and managing the day-to-day press activities for MSNBC’s programming and journalists.

MSNBC also announced that NBC News veteran Madeleine Haeringer will join the network as senior vice president of digital, audio, and long-form, beginning May 7. Reporting to MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler, Haeringer will oversee the network’s digital portfolio.

CNN Bump: MJ Lee has been named CNN’s new senior national enterprise correspondent. In this role, she will cover a range of human impact stories across the country. Lee was previously the network’s senior White House correspondent.

Staying in the nation’s capital, CNN has also announced the appointments of Matt Zapotosky and Kate Irby as senior director for White House and Capitol Hill reporting and supervising editor for the White House, respectively. Zapotosky joins CNN from The Washington Post and Irby joins the network from Politico.
