Streaming Ratings, Week of May 26: Sirens Remains No. 1

Netflix’s dark comedy Sirens remains at the top of Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the second week in a row.

The Meghann Fahy-led series garnered 1.51 billion viewing minutes for the week of May 26, with the Adults 18-34 demo making up 20% of the audience compared to 15% over its first few days.

According to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, Netflix was the only streamer with a title with over a billion viewing minutes. It accounted for four titles within the Top 10, with two of those titles having shared distribution rights.

Comfort shows continue to have a strong presence in the chart, including making a surprising jump to the No. 2 spot courtesy of The Big Bang Theory, which had 905 million minutes viewed on Max. Big Bang was in tenth place the previous week, and its strong showing continues to validate why it was the most binged show of 2024

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale also made a giant leap as it climbed six spots to take the No. 3 position with 900 million viewing minutes. This week marked the final run of the six-season series, as it concluded its tenure as the second most-streamed show of the week among Women 18+, and the third most-streamed among Adults 18-49 and 25-54.

Bluey slipped one spot to fourth place with 863 million minutes viewed on Disney+. It was followed by NCIS, which streamed on Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+, with 833 million viewing minutes landing in the No. 5 position after spending the previous week in second place.

The final five positions of the chart featured Paramount+’s SpongeBob SquarePants, with 802 million minutes viewed, down one position to sixth place. At No. 7 was Grey’s Anatomy with 801 million minutes viewed across Hulu and Netflix. This was followed by Disney+’s showing of the Marvel movie Captain America: Brave New World, which had 750 million viewing minutes in eighth place.

The final two spots in the chart also consisted of original titles, including Netflix’s Dept. Q at No. 9, with 749 million minutes viewed. Taking the final position was Prime Video’s The Better Sister, which accounted for 731 million viewing minutes.
