Streaming Ratings, Week of May 5: Four Seasons Dethrones You

Netflix continued its dominant streak at the top of Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart as the dramedy series Four Seasons broke You’s stranglehold to claim first place for the first week of May, earning 1.157 billion viewing minutes.

Viewership for the Netflix original saw an increased interest from the Adults 18-34 demo, accounting for 20% of the watch time for the week of May 5. This was a +5% increase from the previous week when the series debuted.

For the third consecutive week, only two titles had more than a billion viewing minutes, both of which belonged to Netflix. The streamer had five titles in the Top 10, with two of them sharing distribution rights.

You’s reign at the top finally ended as the Netflix series slid to second place with 1.012 billion minutes viewed for the week of May 5. The Penn Badgley thriller, according to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, has garnered 4.4 billion viewing minutes in its three weeks on the chart, with the majority of eyeballs focused on the latest season. However, the other seasons are also experiencing a viewership bump, reflecting the strong appeal of the series.

Disney+’s Bluey, which had 875 million viewing minutes, moved up to third place in the overall Top 10 chart. The long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy occupied fourth with 867 million minutes viewed across Hulu and Netflix. Closing out the top five is another Disney+ property, Andor, which had 830 million minutes viewed.

The bottom half of the chart had Netflix’s Nonnas, which made its debut at No. 6 with 763 million minutes viewed. At No. 7 was Max’s The Last of Us, registering 738 million viewing minutes, followed by NCIS with 699 million viewing minutes across Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+.

The Rookie remained in ninth place with 674 million minutes viewed on Hulu, while the final spot went to Paramount+’s SpongeBob SquarePants with 626 million viewing minutes.
