Ticker: CNN and CNBC Strike Partnership With Kalshi

Top of the Ticker: CNN and CNBC are venturing into new territory as the two news outlets have entered into individual partnership agreements with Kalshi, a prediction platform. CNN’s partnership with Kalshi was announced on Tuesday, with its data being used across the network’s programming, led by CNN Chief Data Analyst Harry Enten. In addition, the network will launch a new Kalshi-powered real-time news ticker running during segments featuring Kalshi data. Also, the news network’s newsroom, data, and production teams can access Kalshi’s data for developing key storylines and visuals.

Over at CNBC, the network announced on Wednesday that it will use Kalshi data for its editorial coverage across its TV, digital, and subscription channels beginning in 2026. The business network will incorporate Kalshi’s data into its programs, including Squawk Box and Fast Money, and, as with CNN, a Kalshi ticker will run alongside segments of CNBC’s on-air programming. Kalshi will also launch a CNBC page on its site, featuring CNBC-selected markets. 

New digital product: On Wednesday, NBC News announced a new digital subscription product, which brings the best of its news offerings to one place. The new direct-to-consumer digital subscription product will launch soon and includes full and custom mobile episodes of Nightly News, Dateline, Meet the Press, Today, NBC News Now, Dateline 24/7, and Today All Day, as well as nearly two dozen additional live channels from Local, Telemundo, Sky, and NBC Sports. It will also have the news network’s entire podcast library, including Dateline, Making Space, and Here’s the Scoop. The platform offers an ad-free reading experience on NBCNews.com and in the app.

Awards Recipients: ABC News’ James Longman, CNN’s Jim Sciutto, and Fox News’ Trey Yingst were all recipients at the 2025 Foreign Press Awards on Thursday night. Longman, Scuitto, and Yingst received the Foreign Press Awards’ Prize of Excellence, which recognized their distinguished contributions to journalism and their impact on global understanding.

Revolving Door: ABC News announced that Hanna Battah is joining the network as a co-anchor of World News Now and Good Morning America First Look. She joins ABC News from KDFW-TV in Dallas, Texas.

Julia Benbrook has been promoted to correspondent at CNN. She will be based in D.C., covering Washington and the White House for the cable network. 

Also receiving a promotion is Fox News’ Aishah Hasnie, who was named anchor and White House correspondent. Beginning January 10, Hansie will solo anchor the Saturday 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET slot and assume White House correspondent duties during the week.

Finally, MS NOW continues to build out its reporting teams, announcing three new breaking news reporters, including Ebony Davis, who is joining the network from CNN, where she worked as a campaign reporter and embed during the 2024 election. Sydney Carruth joins from NBC News Digital, where she reported on political and policy developments. Finally, Julianne McShane joins from Mother Jones, where she was most recently a news writer as well as a breaking news reporter at NBC News Digital.
