Top of the Ticker: Thursday’s edition of CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip featured a contentious exchange between two of its regular panelists, CNN’s senior political commentator Scott Jennings and MeidasTouch Network commentator Adam Mockler.

During a debate about the war in Iran, Mockler pressed Jennings on the conflict’s progress and conclusion. This led to Jennings using disparaging and profane language towards Mockler. Phillip quickly interjected to diffuse the situation and let Jennings respond to Mockler’s assertions before wrapping up the topic.

TVNewser reached out to CNN regarding the incident, with the network declining to comment on the situation.

Audio bound: Add Greta Van Susteren to the growing list of cable personalities launching podcasts. Newsmax announced on Monday that she will be hosting a weekly podcast, Greta Wire. Now available on leading platforms, Greta Wire will feature interviews with notable figures from politics, business, sports, and entertainment.

Revolving Door: Marc Stewart has left CNN. The former Beijing correspondent and co-host of Marketplace Asia told TVNewser that he left the network “on great terms” and said his Beijing assignment “was the adventure of many lifetimes.” Stewart had been with CNN since Sept. 2022.

Also departing CNN is Stephanie Elam, who served two stints at the network, totaling more than 20 years. The Los Angeles-based correspondent was treated to a goodbye party by her now-former colleagues, which featured a surprise appearance by CNN anchor Sara Sidner.

Meanwhile, CNN has announced that Rachel Siegel is joining the network as a Washington-based reporter for CNN Business. In this role, Siegel will cover economic policy and how it’s shaping American life, breaking news on big developments, and deciphering policy decisions. She was previously with The Washington Post, covering the U.S. housing market.

During Thursday night’s edition of The 11th Hour, Stephanie Ruhle welcomed Ron Insana as MS NOW’s newest business analyst. Viewers should be familiar with Insana, as he used to be a regular contributor to NBC News’ Today Show and NBC Nightly News and previously hosted Market Wrap, the 15-minute business program on what was previously known as MSNBC.
