Ty Steele told viewers of the Sacramento NBC affiliate KCRA his last day is September 19.
He said “A new opportunity in news” prompted him to take a job outside of California. Steele anchors 4, 7 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce I will be leaving KCRA 3 on September 19. This was a really tough decision to make,” he said. “A new opportunity in news is taking me, my wife and my four daughters out of California. I will share more details when I can. KCRA is an incredible TV station, and I have been so blessed to work here for the past six years. My coworkers have been much more than work colleagues. They are like family. To all the viewers at home, thank you for trusting me to tell your stories and bring you the news of the day. It has truly been an honor and a pleasure.”
Steele did not say where he will be headed next. He joined KCRA in September 2018.
