US News Anchors Are in the Middle East to Cover Historic Ceasefire

Today, various news outlets offered early morning live coverage of the historic ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump.

As part of the ceasefire deal, Israeli hostages, who had been held in captivity since the conflict began in 2023, were released, with Israel also agreeing to release Palestinian detainees.

Marquee anchors were dispatched to the region to cover the historic moment, with the broadcast networks offering special reports in the morning hours and cable news providing rolling, breaking news coverage during the overnight hours. 

Here is how the networks are covering the Israel-Hamas ceasefire:

ABC News

World News Tonight anchor David Muir is in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he anchored a special edition of the evening broadcast on Sunday and will do the same on Monday. He is joined by chief foreign correspondent Ian Pannell and chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce from Tel Aviv; chief international correspondent James Longman reporting from Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt; and foreign correspondent Marcus Moore from Jerusalem.

CBS News

CBS Morning co-host Tony Dokoupil is in Jerusalem, Israel, and made appearances on the Sunday edition of CBS Weekend News and Monday’s CBS Mornings. He will report throughout the day on CBS News 24/7 and will also be part of Monday’s CBS Evening News. Joining him in the region are chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes, senior foreign correspondent Debora Patta, and reporter Haley Ott.

CNN

Kaitlan Collins and Wolf Blitzer are leading the network’s coverage out of its Tel Aviv bureau. They are joined by Clarissa Ward and Jeremy Diamond in Tel Aviv; Becky Anderson and Nic Robertson in Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt; and Nada Bashir in Ramallah in the West Bank.

Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas has been in Tel Aviv, Israel, leading coverage of the momentous occasion. He anchored the Sunday edition of Nightly News and is joined in the region by Peter Alexander, Richard Engel, and Matt Bradley. In addition, Keir Simmons has been reporting from Egypt.

Daytime anchor Katy Tur led overnight coverage with David Noriega reporting live on the ground from Israel.

NewsNation

The network offered special coverage from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. ET led by U.S.-based anchors Nichole Berlie, Blake Burman, and Keleigh Beeson. Correspondent Robert Sherman provided live on-the-ground coverage from Israel.
