Remember this simple concept when discussing creative ideas with a client: Do not make Jaws without the shark.

No matter what, hold on to the core idea you agreed to with the client and guard it with your life, which is to say “identify the thing at the center of this idea that, if it gets scratched or broken or dented, the whole thing melts down and it doesn’t work, and you have to start over,” said Kevin Mulroy, partner and ecd at Mischief.
