UM, a global media agency within IPG Mediabrands, has been named U.S. media agency of record for convenience retailer 7-Eleven, ADWEEK has learned.

The appointment follows a competitive review. UM’s remit includes cross-channel media strategy and full-funnel media activation for 7-Eleven, Speedway stores, and the 7NOW delivery app.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Dentsu previously handled portions of 7-Eleven’s media business in the U.S. Neither 7-Eleven nor UM confirmed details of the incumbent agency.

Comvergence estimates that 7-Eleven spent a net total of $70 million in the U.S. in 2024.

UM won the pitch with its new “Full Color Media” approach, a data-driven framework built on IPG’s Interact platform and powered by Acxiom.
