Canva’s Latest Hire Hints at Major Global Creative Push

Canva has hired Ted Markovic as global head of advertising and creative operations as it scales its creative studio worldwide. 

The former Uber and Walmart executive joined the design software company in September, reporting to Canva chief marketing officer (CMO) Zach Kitschke and working closely with Cat van der Werff, who leads the in-house creative studio as executive creative director.

Markovic’s focus will be building Canva’s global creative operations, overseeing external agency relationships, elevating storytelling across campaigns, and ensuring the brand shows up with cultural resonance in every market.

Canva’s creative studio comprises about 130 people globally in offices including Los Angeles, Sydney, and Manila.
