An exciting opportunity for a Junior Illustrator to work with our team of designers in our west end studio. The company specialises in the international drinks industry. Creating packaging and label design for a vast portfolio of drinks brands – everything ranging from soft drinks, wines, beers and spirits.

Role Details

As a Junior Illustrator you will be working closely with a talented team of designers and assisting with your creative illustration work.
You will work to a brief agreed with the client, creative director or account manager, and will develop appropriate creative illustration and concepts for the client’s objectives. The work is very detailed and always very bespoke. This is a rare opportunity to work full time on illustration for brands which are seen all over the world.

Previous experience of working in a design agency is not necessary. Therefore applications from recent graduates to experienced freelancers looking for a full time position will be given equal consideration.

Responsibilities
Your typical responsibilities as an illustrator include:

• estimating the time required to complete a job and providing illustration work within the time constraints given.
• developing illustration work that suit the client’s purpose
• thinking creatively to produce new work and concepts that compliment the design work of the creative team.
• using innovation to redefine a design brief within time and cost constraints
• presenting finalised ideas and concepts to the creative team and/or account managers.
• working with a range of media, including computer-aided design (Wacom Cintiq)
• demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches but also working to a high level of finish.
• working as part of a team with other illustrators, designers, account executives and the Creative Director.

Skill/Attributes Required

Apart from great illustrative and drawing skills, you will need to show:
• passion and enthusiasm for design and illustration, with a creative flair.
• a flexible approach when working in a team.
• The ability to execute a variety of illustrative styles.
• excellent communication skills to interpret and negotiate briefs.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate through their portfolio the ability to approach illustration work in a variety of different styles with a flexible approach.
