Role Details
Entry-level Graphic Designer
Full-time contract, Sydney
$58,000-$65,000 salary + super & benefits
Cred Consulting is a people-first planning consultancy focused on creating better communities, places and cities. Based in Chippendale, our services include community and stakeholder engagement and research; community and place planning; Needs Studies; Community Benefit Analysis and Social Impact Assessments, and strategic governance advice.
We produce a wide variety of visual communications for our clients across State and Local Government, private and not-for-profit sectors, from print-based marketing, including project branding; report and proposal layouts; icon creation; event collateral and signage, to illustrations and infographic creation.
We pride ourselves on our engaging, friendly and clever visual communications. The successful applicant will be responsible for visual designing, editing and building of reports in Indesign; creating presentations and marketing collateral in Indesign and PowerPoint; assisting in the conceptualisation, design and production of community engagement materials, and overseeing and developing our organisational visual communications.
This is a new, full-time contract role (with a 3-month probation period), based in our Sydney office. We have flexible work arrangements and hours.
Role responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with internal project teams and designers during projects’ briefing, ideation/conceptualisation, feedback, development and finalisation process stages to ensure the design work meets the brief and objectives.
• Design the ‘look and feel’ of Indesign templates for reports, project sheets and tenders – responding to the client, brand or audience.
• Create presentations in PowerPoint and InDesign.
• Format, graphic edits and ‘zhoosh’ of Indesign reports – checking for layout, paragraph styles, alignment, links, automatic numbering and table of contents.
• Create plans and diagrams for projects.
• Assist the community engagement team with development and design of consultation boards and posters, worksheets, presentations, postcards, decals, Eventbrite banners and other collateral.
• Assist the Business Operations Manager in creating organisational marketing collateral and social media content.
• Assist with maintaining the website with up-to-date content.
• Support the team with ad-hoc graphic design-related queries and provide ad-hoc InDesign technical support.
Salary and benefits:
• $58,000-$65,000 annually (dependent on experience), plus Super and other benefits.
• Four weeks Annual Leave.
• Training and professional development opportunities.
• Flexible working arrangements.
• Equal-opportunity and inclusive organisation with a commitment to providing a safe, supportive and respectful working environment.
You will be joining a purpose-driven, dynamic, flexible, collaborative team focused on delivering great social outcomes for communities, and so we hope to find someone who shares these values.

Essential criteria:
• Graduate Qualifications in Graphic Design, or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software, particularly Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability in designing original resources, with a strong understanding of the value of visually appealing reporting and communications collateral to communicate ideas.

Desirable criteria:
• Previous work experience in a similar industry.
• Background knowledge of Social Research, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or other Built Environment and Community Engagement industries.
• Can speak a language other than English.

• Thinks creatively and embraces curiosity, excellence, fun and new ways of doing things.
• Sound understanding of when and how to apply various communications styles for different contexts, e.g.: in a culturally diverse community engagement project vs. reporting to government bodies.

• Proactive, self-starter with strong team-work skills and a collaborative approach.
