By all measures, Nielsen’s latest hire is a big get.
Today, measurement giant Nielsen announced Peter Naylor is joining as its first chief client officer. Naylor will serve as a partner to clients, working closely with Nielsen’s sales, product, and research teams to help enhance their businesses. He will report to Karthik Rao, CEO of Nielsen.
“The key to Nielsen’s continued success is working closely with our clients to build the best marketing intelligence platform in the world,” Rao said in a statement. “Peter is the perfect person to help that mission, building on Nielsen’s momentum of big data + panel measurement, live streaming innovation, and our AI transformation.”
Naylor previously served as Netflix’s vp of global ad sales, helping to launch the streamer’s first foray into advertising. He left the company in 2024, around two years after joining. Naylor also previously led sales at Snap and served as svp of ad sales at Hulu.
“Nielsen’s partners represent the very best of advertising and media. I am thrilled to be in a position to support them and the markets we serve during this dynamic time,” said Naylor.
The hire comes as Nielsen continues to build on its existing client relationships. In September, Nielsen and Warner Bros. Discovery announced a new multi-year measurement deal, covering measurement for all of WBD platforms.
This year, Nielsen’s panel + big data product experienced consistency issues in its first year as the company’s officially endorsed currency. However, multiple buyers previously told ADWEEK that Nielsen remains the market leader in currency and measurement.
