It was another slow news day with key anchors missing from the evening lineups of all three cable news networks. Fox News led the way on Friday evening, even though its 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET shows featured fill-in anchors. For the second day in a row, the 4 p.m. ET edition of Deadline: White House with Nicolle Wallace was MSNBC’s top show, finishing above a million total viewers with Stephanie Ruhle filling in. As for CNN, its No. 1 program was the 5 p.m. ET edition of The Lead with Jake Tapper, which was anchored by Phil Mattingly.
