
All three networks experienced month-to-month gains in total viewers and the Adults 25-54 demographic for the month of June.
It was a very newsworthy month, with domestic and international news drawing viewers to Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN. Top stories include the murders of the Minnesota lawmakers, the ICE protests, and the Middle East conflict, which featured U.S. involvement courtesy of the military strikes at three Iranian nuclear sites.
CNN saw the largest gains during primetime and total day, finishing in second place in the demo during primetime. Meanwhile, Fox News finished ahead of two broadcast networks in total viewers, including CBS, which had 2.1 million and 341,000 demo viewers. It was also in front of NBC in total viewers, which had 2.4 million.
This was Fox News’ highest-rated June in total viewers and the demo since 2020.
Fox News
According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News had 2.803 million total viewers in primetime and 345,000 viewers in the Adults 25-54 demo. During total day, it had 1.710 million total viewers and 220,000 viewers in the demo.
Compared to its performance in May 2025, Fox News experienced a +14% gain in total viewers and a +32% increase in the A25-54 demo during primetime. During total day, it was also up +10% in total viewers and +22% in the demo when compared to the previous month.
Looking at Fox News’ performance against the same month in 2024, it was up by +23% in total viewers and +35% in the demo during primetime. In total day, it was up by +27% in total viewers and +38% in the demo—the only network with gains in this comparison.
The network finished June as the No.1 cable network in total viewers and in third place in the demo during primetime. During total day, it was in first place in total viewers and in the demo.
MSNBC
MSNBC was the No. 2 cable news network in primetime and total day in total viewers in June, with 955,000 and 593,000 viewers, respectively. The network in the A25-54 demo had 95,000 viewers in primetime and 60,000 viewers during total day.
Compared to May, MSNBC was up +9% in total viewers and +30% in A25-54 during primetime. It was up +9% in total viewers and +22% in the demo during total day.
Looking at its performance in June 2024, MSNBC was down -18% in total viewers and the demo during primetime. It was down -23% in total viewers and -24% in the demo during total day.
MSNBC finished in fourth place during primetime and No. 2 in total viewers during total day. It was the No. 11 network in the demo during primetime and tied for 10th place with Investigation Discovery during total day.
