Here Are the Cable News Ratings for June 2025

During primetime in May, CNN had 642,000 total viewers and 134,000 A25-54 viewers. When looking at total day, the network had 446,000 total viewers and 83,000 demo viewers.

Compared to its performance in the previous month, CNN saw an increase of +51% in total viewers and +76% in the demo during primetime. It increased by +26% in total viewers and +41% in the demo during total day. 

When comparing its performance to the same month in 2024 during primetime, which coincided with the presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, it was down -7% in total viewers and -13% in the demo. In total day, CNN lost viewers by -2% and -3% in total viewers and the demo, respectively. 

CNN finished as the No. 5 network during primetime and was in fourth place in total day in total viewers. Its position in the demo was No. 6 in primetime and during total day.

Looking at the June performance of the other news nets:

  • NewsNation – Cuomo remains the top program in total viewers and A25-54 with 185,000 and 17,000 viewers, respectively. 
  • Fox Business – Kudlow remained the net’s top show in total viewers, with 287,000 viewers, and also held the top spot in the demo, with 17,000 viewers. 
  • CNBC – Squawk on the Street was the most-watched program in total viewers, with 207,000, and finished in first place in the A25-54 demo, with 48,000 viewers.  
  • Newsmax – Rob Schmitt Tonight was the net’s top show in total viewers and the demo, with 411,000 and 25,000 viewers, respectively.

PROGRAMMING

  • Fox News – The Five was the most-watched program in Total Viewers (3.760 million at 5 p.m. ET). Hannity took first place in the advertiser-coveted demo of A25-54 with 434,000 viewers at 9 p.m. ET.
  • MSNBC – Its most-watched show in total viewers and the demo continued to be The Rachel Maddow Show (2.061 million and 214,000, respectively) at 9 p.m. ET. 
  • CNNAnderson Cooper 360 at 8 p.m. ET was the network’s top performer in total viewers, with 669,000. In the A25-54 demo, CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip at 10 p.m. ET remained in first place with 149,000 viewers.
