Herman-Scheer is looking for an Art Director passionate about web and ecommerce to join the team in support of our digital design services. We’re based in Venice but will be working remotely until it’s safe to get back into an office. This is a full-time role reporting to our Chief Creative Officer.
The Art Director will be a critical part of our Go To Market Team (Copywriters, Visual Designers, Motion Designers, and Developers) in helping to build and launch best-in-class websites for our clients.
AREAS OF FOCUS:
Web & Digital Design – you’ll work alongside Creative Directors, Visual Designers, Copywriters, & Developers to design websites, apps, and ecommerce projects, leveraging a solid understanding of UX/UI design principles.
Support the Creative Direction – you’ll work with our team in synthesizing business objectives, brand strategy, identity, and marketing insights in order to develop creative concepts that can effectively connect with consumers and help to sell products.
Establishing Photo/Video Content Needs – in the design phase, you’ll ideate on the visual assets necessary to support the website, then work closely with our production partners to get the assets we need.
Always Helping us to Better – you’ll work closely with our Operations team, Client Services team, and Business Development team to continuously evolve our digital capabilities and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality of work, and client satisfaction/trust.
Brand Identity & Social Content – Although your focus will be in web design, experience and comfort in brand identity and producing social content is a plus.

Skill/Attributes Required
5+ years working in digital design at an agency, startup, or similar environment
Expert in design tools like Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite
Detail-oriented and skilled in time and deadline management
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple large projects at once and at high-speed
Live in Los Angeles (this will be remote through COVID but will eventually be back in office)
