Joe Carmean has joined WMDT in Salisbury, Maryland as news director.

“Joe brings a wealth of newsroom leadership experience, and we are excited to have him lead our news team,” said Stephanie Willey, general manager of WMDT.

The station said Carmean brings a “deep and diverse background in journalism to the station.”

Prior to joining the ABC affiliate, he was a news manager at WBOC in Salisbury before working for four years in Public Relations.

He’s also worked his way up as a reporter, then city editor, then managing editor of The Daily Times in Salisbury where he oversaw its publications across Delmarva.
