Fox 11 Los Angeles anchor Elex Michaelson is leaving the station for a new opportunity.
“I’ve made the difficult decision to leave @FOXLA to pursue an exciting new opportunity…that I’m not allowed to talk about just yet,” he said in a social media post. “My last day at the station is Friday August 15th.”
Michaelson co-anchors Fox 11 News weeknights at 5 and 10 p.m. with Christine Devine. He also co-hosts the weeknight Fox 11 News at 6 p.m. with Marla Tellez.
Whiel he said he isn’t allowed to talk about the new opportunity, Deadline noted that his announcement comes a day after KTTV parent company News Corp. announced plans to launch the California Post, a Los Angeles-based tabloid with the flavor of the New York Post, early next year.
Between 2010 and 2017, he was a reporter and fill-in anchor at KABC in Los Angeles. Before that, he served as a weekend morning anchor and weeknight reporter at XETV in San Diego.
