L’Oréal Paris and British broadcaster Channel 4 each won a Film Grand Prix at Cannes Lions 2025.

Film Lions, the festival’s oldest category, typically awards two Grand Prix.

L’Oréal Paris and McCann Paris won for their 18-minute documentary, “The Final Copy of Ilon Specht.”

The film told the story of Ilon Specht, the copywriter who coined L’Oréal’s iconic tagline, “Because I’m Worth It.” Specht died in 2024 at age 81.

“The filmmaking is exquisite, it draws you in,” said Kate Stanners, Film jury president and chairman and global chief creative officer of Saatchi & Saatchi. “It made me feel very differently about L’Oréal.”

The second Film Grand Prix went to Channel 4 for its Paris 2024 Paralympics ad, “Considering What?”, created by in-house agency 4Creative.

The film turned the lens on viewers to challenge stereotypes of Paralympians and disabled people. It was notable for its craft and experimental techniques, as well as dropping the term “superhumans” which had been part of Channel 4’s Paralympics campaign since 2012, to progress the conversation about disability.

“Considering What?” followed three chapters of Channel 4’s Paralympics campaign, which began when the broadcaster became a partner of the Paralympics in 2012. All three of Channel 4’s previous Paralympics films also won Grand Prix at Cannes Lions.

“[Channel 4] has gone on to really shift the conversation [about disability], and their work has matched that,” Stanners said.
