The evening edition will air at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by Ayman Mohyeldin, Catherine Rampell, Antonia Hylton, and Elise Jordan.
Finally, Ali Velshi will expand his namesake weekend program to three hours, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The biggest casualties from all these changes were Joy Reid and Alex Wagner. Reid lost her 7 p.m. show and subsequently left the network, while Wagner was named to a senior political analyst role.
MSNBC is currently searching for new office and studio space in New York, and has brought in new executives as it plans to hire 100 additional journalists to help with its newsgathering and reporting efforts.
