Veteran Milwaukee news anchor Mike Strehlow said he will “semi-retire” from CBS affiliate WDJT this summer.

Strehlow has been with the station from the beginning. He anchored its very first newscast in March 1996.

Strehlow said he will step down as anchor of the ‘CBS 58 News at Noon’ and the ‘CBS 58 News at 4‘ at the end of this summer and will focus on anchoring ‘CBS 58 Sunday Morning’ each week.

“With September marking the start of my 44th year in television news, I look forward to transitioning to a phased retirement where purpose meets leisure,” said Strehlow. “This new role will offer me the best of both worlds; continued meaningful work with my CBS 58 family and added quality time with my own family.”

“Mike is truly one of the nicest and most generous people you could know. His daily presence in the station will be missed”, said Anne Brown, vp and general manager of CBS 58. “This is the best possible transition. Mike gets more time with his family, and we still have him as part of our Sunday mornings.”
