We have the opportunity for a talented Middleweight Designer to join our Bournemouth studio. Working across brand, print and digital in the ‘for good’ sector you’ll need to be an empathetic thinker with a desire to change the world for the better.
Role Details
You’ll need an excellent eye for typography and layout, with strong design execution skills and meticulous attention to detail. More than anything, you’ll need enthusiasm and ambition.
Middleweight designer responsibilities:
• Design for a broad range of projects across brand, print and digital formats, with the ability to supply appropriate files and artwork.
• Work directly with clients to understand their design requirements, taking projects from concept to completion.
• Working directly with the Creative Director to generate ideas and visual concepts.
• Present ideas and work for approval, both internally and externally.
• Maintain an extremely high level of work on all projects.
• Managing external suppliers to ensure expectations are met.
• Staying connected with new waves and trends.
• Any other duties as reasonable requested.
Skill/Attributes Required
Middleweight designer requirements:
• Creative degree, formal training or related experience, with a passion to continue to learn and develop.
• Commercial experience within the design sector, ideally within a studio environment.
• Ability to generate strong, appropriate ideas, based on a client brief, demonstrated through a strong portfolio.
• A strong interest in the ‘for good’ sector.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate your ideas direct to clients as well as peers.
• A good understanding of UX and how this translates into both analogue and digital design.
• A basic understanding of html and css (this isn’t a developer role, but it helps if you understand the principles and limitations).
• Any additional creative skills, such as video, animation or illustration.
• Bags of enthusiasm.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Calm, polite, and professional behaviour.
• Organised, reliable and self-motivated.
