
First on TVNewser: CBS News is bringing back Michael Solmsen as an executive producer of The Takeout with Major Garrett on CBS News 24/7. Solmsen was most recently with NBC News, where he launched and executive-produced NBC News Now’s Top Story with Tom Llamas. He began his career at CBS News as an intern for CBS This Morning, transitioning to a producer for the show. He then relocated to Dallas, TX, where he served as a field producer for the Southwest region.
Solmsen also had a stop at ABC News, where he was a senior producer at World News Tonight and was also responsible for overseeing the weekend editions. Based in New York, Solmsen begins his new assignment on Monday, June 30.
Influencer addition: Brett Cooper is joining Fox News as a contributor. The influencer and conservative podcaster, who helms The Brett Cooper Show, has already begun making appearances on the network, with her debut on Wednesday’s edition of The Will Cain Show at 4 p.m. ET. She previously hosted The Comments Section, a video podcast on The Daily Wire from 2022 to 2024.
Headed to D.C.: Bloomberg News announced that Myles Miller will be transitioning from broadcast to print, becoming its new senior reporter in the Washington, D.C., bureau. He will be responsible for covering the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation on the Economic Statecraft/National Security Team led by Nick Wadhams. Miller, who begins his new assignment on July 7 in New York, was previously at Bloomberg Television, where he served as Americas Managing Editor, responsible for planning, field production, and coordination between broadcast, radio, print, and digital teams.
