Sarah Al-Shaikh has joined returned to her hometown of Houston to work at ABC owned station KTRK as a reporter.

Al-Shaikh comes from KXAN in Austin, where she’d been a reporter for three years.

“I’m home, y’all! After nearly five years in Lansing and Austin, I’ve made my way back to H-town,” she wrote on Facebook. “Since the very beginning, this has been the dream. Report in my home city. Telling the stories of Houstonians. It’s a chance to give back to a place that’s given so much to me. On top of that, I’ll be reporting at ABC 13 — the station I’ve watched my whole life.”

Al-Shaikh has also worked at WLNS in Lansing, Michigan.
