Spal

Yesterday we have been in Ferrara, Italy to attend the Serie A game  Società Polisportiva Ars et Labor against Internazionale. Spal is the football club of Ferrara, an historical city in Emilia Romagna, which is back to Serie A since last season, after almost 60 years. The stadium, 16.000 seats was sold out and has been renovated this summer and now is totally covered. In Italy most of the stadiums are still pretty old and is one of the big problems which is facing Italy.

Just few clubs own their own stadium like Juventus and Sassuolo. Cagliari is building a new one and some other clubs are working in this direction. Ferrara last year hosted a Under 21 National Team game and also the National Women Team, which is also a sign that the owner of Spal worked in the right direction to take back people to watch football and feel proud of their city team. These are the photos we took at the game yesterday: Spal lost 1-2 against Internazionale, with 2 goals scored by Mauro Icardi, one of the Internazionale stars. Spal got some opportunities, but it was not enough to defeat the team trained by Luciano Spalletti. All Photographs by Giacomo Cosua
