Moran’s suspension comes on the heels of his exclusive interview with Trump in the Oval Office, which aired as a primetime special on Tuesday, April 29, marking the conclusion of the president’s first 100 days.
Moran is ABC News’ senior national correspondent based in the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau. He has been with the network since 1997 and has also served as ABC News’ chief foreign correspondent, co-anchor of the ABC News show Nightline, and chief White House correspondent.
In late 2024, ABC News settled a defamation suit with the then-President-elect Trump for $15 million involving anchor George Stephanopoulos. The network faced a storm of criticism after the settlement was announced.
