The Ad Council, a nonprofit organization known for public service campaigns like Smokey Bear and gun safety initiatives, has elected 17 new members to its board of directors.
Tara Walpert Levy, vice president of YouTube Americas, continues to serve as the board’s chair, while Carla Hassan, chief marketing officer at JPMorganChase, has been elevated to the role of vice chair.
The Ad Council’s board comprises 162 senior executives from across the media, marketing, tech, and business sectors. Members provide guidance, expertise, and financial support to help ensure the nonprofit’s campaigns address key national issues, such as mental health, substance use, gun violence, and hate.
This year’s appointees represent a wide range of industries—from retail and tech to sports and entertainment—and bring perspectives shaped by years of brand and platform leadership. Among them is Emily Wilcox, CEO of TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, who said the Ad Council’s mission aligns closely with her own motivation for working in the industry.
“What we do for a living can be so powerful when deployed for the right causes and that’s why I am excited to get started and help the organization continue its mission,” Wilcox told ADWEEK. “It is what made me fall in love with this business and why I show up every day.”
Tim Clark, executive vice president and chief brand officer at NASCAR, also emphasized the opportunity to collaborate with other industry leaders to impact social good.
“The Ad Council Board of Directors… brings together leaders with exceptional expertise, resources, and access to platforms that can make a real, measurable difference in communities across the country,” Clark said.
Jackelyn Keller, chief marketing officer at Comscore, noted that the intersection of purpose and data-driven strategy makes the board’s work especially relevant.
“The Ad Council reinforces that when storytelling meets purpose, it can shape culture—and move people,” she said. “We know data makes that impact measurable and actionable.”
