The CW’s Fall Premiere Dates Look to Score With Live Sports

The CW is putting sports in a headlock.

Today, The CW Network announced its primetime fall premiere dates for 2024, leaning into events and live programming, which have been popular among buyers during TV upfront negotiations.

Inside the NFL kicks off on Friday, Aug. 30, with host Ryan Clark returning to lead a panel of football experts. The college football season then gets underway on Saturday, Aug. 31, with a Pac-12 doubleheader as the Portland State Vikings visit the Washington State Cougars at 3 p.m. and the Idaho State Bengals and Oregon State Beavers face off at 6:30 p.m.

For more sports and live programming, the Nascar Xfinity Series makes its CW debut on Friday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. with a live race from Bristol Motor Speedway. WWE NXT has its CW debut on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Regarding scripted and reality fare, The Chosen Season 4 makes its broadcast debut on Sunday, Sept. 1. Meanwhile, Whose Line Is It Anyway? is back for Season 13 on Friday, Sept. 6 with back-to-back episodes.

Sullivan’s Crossing, starring Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson, returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Sophie Turner then stars as jewel thief Joan Harrington in Joan at 9 p.m.

Game shows Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit air on Monday, Oct. 7. And Superman & Lois returns for its final season with a two-hour premiere on Thursday, Oct. 17.
