The gold standard of personal drones, DJI’s Mavic Pro, has dropped to just $769. That’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen, beating last year’s Black Friday sale of $815. The MSRP for the Mavic Pro is $999, which makes this deal a 23-percent discount.
When it was released in 2016, The Verge gave Mavic Pro a 9.5 score, saying it “has all the range, battery life, and advanced features of larger drones” while small enough to fit in a jacket pocket. It’s more powerful than last year’s Spark (also on sale at Amazon for $339, down from the already discounted $399) and more portable than DJI’s flagship quadcopter series, Phantom. (The latest edition, Phantom 4 Pro, .)
DJI announced a new Mavic drone earlier this year, the Mavic Air, which may explain this price drop. The is priced at $799, making the Mavic Pro now $30 less than the new model. Comparing the specs yields very little difference between the two models — the Air has a slightly better camera and the Pro has a slightly longer flight time.
If you’ve been considering a drone purchase but been put off by the price, this is the best deal we’ve seen on one of the best personal drones on the market.
