Michelle Crossan-Matos, chief marketing officer at Ulta Beauty, revealed in a LinkedIn post Wednesday that she is leaving the company.

Crossan-Matos assumed the CMO role at Ulta Beauty in January 2023, responsible for brand building, consumer insight, creative, credit, ecommerce, guest services, member loyalty, public relations, store design, and UB Media, the company’s retail media network.

She had spent the previous five years as senior vice president, citizenship and communications officer at Samsung Electronics America, following senior marketing roles at Samsung Europe, Vertu, and Procter & Gamble.

“In just the past few years, our marketing team has achieved so much, inspired by and in partnership with our incredible associates,” she wrote on LinkedIn. “From launching our Joy Project, Joy Council, Joy Hub online community, and The Joy of … podcast, whilst driving epic levels of brand love and awareness and social buzz through the power of ‘Joy.’ No doubt, this team will continue to grow from strength to strength, and I will be cheering you all on as you continue to spread joy!”

Crossan-Matos concluded, “As I look to the future, I am excited to embark on my next chapter, and joy forward to a new path of possibilities, which I will share soon.”
