The volatility of the stock market and the latest tariff news were not enough to draw viewers to the evening news broadcasts. All three newcasts experienced declines in total viewers and Adults 25-54 for the week of April 7.
CBS News saw the biggest week-to-week declines as its reimagined flagship evening news broadcast posted a double-digit drop in the advertiser-coveted demo.
Note: The weekly average of CBS Evening News is based on four days (Tuesday – Friday). Monday’s (04/07/2025) broadcast was retitled to CBS Evening Nws due to the Men’s Basketball NCAA Tournament Championship game. This broadcast is excluded from the weekly and season averages.
