
The first week of June saw all three morning shows sustaining declines in both total viewers and the Adults 25-54 demo.
CBS Mornings experienced the sharpest decline in the latter category, recording a double-digit drop and finishing below 300,000 viewers for the week of June 2.
ABC News’ Good Morning America continues to keep the demo race tight as it chips away at the dominance of NBC News’ Today. Only 65,000 viewers separated the two morning shows during the just-concluded week.
According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, GMA averaged 2.6 million total viewers and 458,000 A25-54 viewers. Compared to the previous week, the morning show was down -1% in the former category and -2% in the latter. Looking at its performance alongside the same week in 2024 (the week beginning June 3), GMA was down in total viewers by -5% in both measured categories.
Today was No. 2 in total viewers, but remained first in the demo, with 2.441 million and 523,000 viewers, respectively. Week-to-week, the morning show sustained a -5% decrease in total viewers and a -4% drop in the demo. Year-to-year, Today was down -7% in total viewers and -10% in the demo.
CBS Mornings saw 1.767 million total viewers and 284,000 A25-54 viewers for declines of -3% and -17%, respectively. Year-to-year, the morning show experienced a -14% decline in total viewers and a steep -33% decline in the demo.
