ABC News’ Good Morning America kept NBC News’ Today at bay for the third consecutive week, remaining America’s most-watched morning show during the week of March 17.

However, the audience gap between the two shows did shrink: GMA led Today by 69,000 total viewers compared to the 77,000 viewers that separated both rivals the previous week.

All three morning shows had a great week overall, recording gains in total viewers and the advertiser-coveted Adults 25-54 demo. CBS Mornings scores bonus points for its double-digit increases in the demo.

According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, GMA averaged 2.661 million total viewers and 464,000 viewers in the demo. Compared to the previous week, the ABC News morning show—which will be relocating from its longtime Times Square this summer—was up by +5% in total viewers and +7% in the demo. Looking at its performance alongside the same week in 2024 (the week of March 18), GMA was down by a respective -4% and -14% in those measured categories.

Today remained in second place in total viewers, but finished at No. 1 in the demo with 2.592 million and 640,000 viewers, respectively. Week-to-week it was up by +5% in the former category and +1% in the latter. Year-to-year Today was down -5% in total viewers and -8%  in the demo.

CBS Mornings had 2.007 million total viewers and 389,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for gains of +7% and +17%, respectively. Compared to the same week in 2024, the show was down -1% in total viewers and -3% in the demo.
