Exclusive interview: ABC News secured the first broadcast interview with legal U.S. resident Mahmoud Khalil since his June 20 release from immigration detention in Louisiana.

The interview is set to air on Monday at 7 p.m. ET on ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis. Previews of the interview aired on Sunday’s edition of ABC World News Tonight and Monday’s Good Morning America.

In previews of the interview, Khalil, who was detained on March 8 and spent over 100 days in detention, reflected on his capture and time away from his family. He pushed back against the Trump administration’s claim that he is a threat to U.S. national security.

Khalil described to Davis what happened on the day he was captured, saying, “I felt like I was literally kidnapped; all the ‘know your rights’ that I’ve indulged myself into felt like nothing because at that moment ICE made it clear that you have no rights, whatsoever.”

Miles accumulation: NBC News’ Dylan Dreyer loves covering the Royal Ascot. So much so that she traveled from Alaska to London to be part of NBC Sports’ coverage this past Saturday. This comes just three days after Dreyer traveled from Newark, New Jersey, to Anchorage, Alaska, for a Today assignment.

The third hour of NBC News’ morning broadcast was spending time in the U.S.’s northernmost state to cover the summer solstice. Overall, Dreyer had traveled more than 7,800 miles between the three locations, spending 22 hours and 25 minutes in the air.

“I wouldn’t have missed it,” Dreyer said during pre-race coverage, where she explained how she lost a day as a result of all that traveling.
