Dec. 31 marked the biggest single messaging day in the Facebook-owned messaging application’s 10-year-plus history.

WhatsApp also said more than 12 billion photos were shared via its platform from midnight through 11:59 p.m. PT on Dec. 31.

The five most-used features on the app in 2019 were: text messaging, Status (its take on Stories), picture messaging, calling and voice notes.
